Developers working on the plan for Prairieland Village in Cypress, Texas, wanted to create spaces where families could gather and enjoy the outdoors. A splash pad was at the top of the list—but they didn’t want something ordinary. Instead, they envisioned a striking design that would stand out as a centerpiece for the community.

The design had already been finalized: a bold chevron pattern incorporating four custom colors in shades of yellow, orange, blue, and red. SUNDEK crews set out to bring that vision to life.
To achieve the look, SUNDEK of Houston used Classic Texture topped with an Eco Clear finish. Classic Texture is SUNDEK’s original spray texture overlay system, chosen by architects, commercial builders, and homeowners alike for its durability and comfort.

Plus, its acrylic finish helps prevent dirt, oils, and chemicals from seeping in, making upkeep easier and more cost effective.
Architects for the community park knew they wanted a unique chevron design for the splash pad and that SUNDEK of Houston would be able to make it happen.
As a protective topcoat, Eco Clear was the perfect complement to the system. This environmentally friendly, water-based polyurethane enhances color vibrancy with a glossy finish while standing up to heavy foot traffic. It also resists fading and yellowing from UV exposure, ensuring the splash pad stays bright and beautiful for years to come.
Working on a tight timeframe for the park’s grand opening, SUNDEK crews coordinated with other trades completing work at the same time. Despite the challenges, they executed the installation efficiently, finishing on schedule.
